Improved Large Disc Packaging
Fike is updating its packaging on all larger diameter rupture discs. The changes will first be seen in the 8” size only. Larger standard disc sizes, up through 24”, will be implemented throughout the remainder of 2009. Though the need for packaging improvements stemmed from needs internal to Fike, numerous additional benefits for our customers have been realized.
- The packaging is much “greener”, using recyclable materials to lessen the environmental footprint
- It is more compact and lightweight for ease of handling and less required storage space
- Can prevent disc damage with clear handling indication
- Disc inspection out of the box and repackaging has been made easier

Fike Expands Axius® Product Line to Larger Sizes
Fike announces that Axius high performance rupture discs are now available in sizes of 6 in. (150mm) through 12 in. (300mm).
In 2005, Fike introduced the Axius reverse-acting rupture (bursting) disc, representing a revolutionary advancement in high performance pressure relief technology. Since then Fike has continued to expand Axius capabilities by offering higher burst pressures, a sanitary version, and now a range of larger sizes.
“Axius technology produces extremely reliable, high performance rupture discs, and we are excited to now offer an even broader product line to our customers”, said Chuck Kopoulos, Fike Executive Vice President of Operations. “We know of many applications where Axius solved a problem that could not be solved by a rupture disc from any other company. Now, with these larger sizes, Axius can be used to solve even more challenging situations. Fike will continue to invest in development of Axius technology and will continue to introduce more Axius rupture discs to the global market.”
