Meeting Explosion Safety Requirements with Flameless Venting.

Flameless Explosion Venting is a relatively new technology for protecting indoor equipment from the hazards of dust explosions.  This technology provides a ready solution for some applications where conventional explosion venting is not appropriate.  The following article, published in the January 2010 edition of "Powder Bulk Engineering", describes flameless explosion venting and how to select devices that comply with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements.  The article is written by Fike's Manager of Explosion Protection Technology, Jef Snoeys.

New Combustible Dust Explosion Hazard Video

Dust explosions are deadly and commercially devastating. Unfortunately, many of them occur at facilities without a prior explosion incident, providing a false sense of security. The reality is that many facilities have inherent risks that should be addressed to prevent an inevitable catastrophe.

Chemical Processing and Fike have collaborated on an informative video concerning combustible dust hazards, the industry's changing codes and standards, and best practices for mitigating the risks of explosions.
