Function

May be used in liquid, vapor and two-phase flow applications and is available in a large variety of materials. Specifically designed to help prevent material buildup, the Poly SD is ideal for polymerization processes.

Designed for high-pressure, liquid or vapor applications; well suited for minimizing leakage and corrosion in pressure relief valves, isolating them from process contaminants (when cross-scored to be non-fragmenting).

Economical, rugged and easy to install. The CPV model consists of a retainer ring, rupture disc and vacuum support to form a closely fitted unit; The CPV-C model includes a full cover to protect the disc from dirt or rust.

Consists of two components: the seal member and a slotted top that controls the burst pressure. With a fluoropolymer seal, this cost-effective rupture disc is a corrosion-resistant, low-pressure solution.

Designed for overpressure protection or vacuum protection of atmospheric vessels, and may be used to support hygienic configurations; mounts directly between companion flanges, so no special rupture disc holders are necessary.

Benefit

  • Provides pressure relief at or below its rated burst pressure, even if damaged or installed upside down.
  • Various scoring configurations offer optimized performance over a wide range of pressures.
  • Can be operated as high as 90% of rated burst pressure or 95% of minimum burst pressure.
  • Interlocking ring prevents disc slippage at high operating and rupture pressures.
  • Can be operated as high as 90% of rated burst pressure or 95% of minimum burst pressure.
  • Can withstand full vacuum without vacuum support in a wide range of pressures.
  • Designed for installation in flanges which utilize the standard 30° seating.
  • Available in wide range of corrosion-resistant materials, optionally with protective coating/linings.
  • Full vacuum rating.
  • Available in a wide range of corrosion-resistant materials, including fluoropolymers.
  • Gas or liquid services.
  • Full vacuum rating
  • Standard burst in one direction, but may optionally burst in two directions.
  • Low burst pressures including 0.5 psig (35 mbarg) to 15 psid (1034 mbarg).
  • Pre-attached gaskets for easy installation.

Find Your Rupture Disc

Fike offers numerous types of rupture discs to ensure we have the most reliable pressure relief solution possible to meet any challenge: vapor or liquid media, high or low pressures, hygienic requirements, and more. Use the Rupture Disc Finder below to determine the ideal rupture disc for your unique application.

.

What is a forward-acting rupture disc?

  • Concave side of a forward-acting rupture disc’s dome faces the process media.
  • Opens when the weakest portion of the disc exceeds its tensile strength.
  • Cycle life is often limited at higher operating ratios because the stresses are tensile in nature.
  • Ability to support vacuum or back pressure is dependent on the inlet diameter supporting the dome, the bulge height and material thickness, or by the addition of vacuum support.
