Fike Fire Watch Deployable Fire Detection System Earns FM Global Approval
BLUE SPRINGS, Missouri | October 2024: Fike Corporation, a global manufacturer and supplier of fire protection systems, has announced the global FM approval of one of its latest fire detection solutions, Fike Fire Watch. FM Global now recommends this portable fire watch system in its datasheet 10-3 Hot Work Management.
Fike Fire Watch offers temporary fire detection to comply with NFPA requirements and to maintain a safe workplace, including after hot work has been completed, during new building construction, when fire protection systems are impaired or disabled, or when temporary monitoring of high-risk or high-value equipment is required.
Fike Fire Watch is an automated solution that may be used instead of paying contractors or employees to perform these activities. The system includes one or two Fike IR3 HD flame detectors, with an on-board HD camera, smoke detection via Fike Video Analytics, alarm notifications and a battery which supplies up to 18.7 hours of uninterrupted power.
When a fire is detected, Fike Fire Watch immediately activates its integrated alarm and can be monitored by a building fire alarm panel or third-party equipment for SMS, mobile phone push, text or email notification.
“Fike Fire Watch fills a very important need in the industry of providing cost-effective temporary fire detection,” said Kevin Montgomery, Fike Manager of Fire Protection Product Management. “Investing in just one Fike Fire Watch System will easily pay for itself after just a few uses. We are excited to provide a reliable and inexpensive solution to those who need it most.”
